The most popular option to make your old desk looks new is by desk painting. It is also can be categorized as recycling option and so helpful to save your money. You cannot paint your wood desk with the same way when painting metal desk. Basically, both are similar but there are some different procedures that you should take into consideration. There are available some paint types that can be used for wood and metal. But on other hand, there are also some paints that purposed only for metal material or only for wood surface.

Choosing the right paint type is not only important to ensure you get the pretty stylish look of your new desk but also closely related to the durability. Set the distance between the surface and the can properly (a few inches), then try to keep the distance when painting process constantly. (6). The last, the metal surface is usually not enough to be covered by the single coat. Therefore make ensure each inch of surface gets the multiple coats.

(1). Like when painting the metal desk, choose the outdoor location and use some pieces of old newspaper to protect the floor.

(2). Don’t use bleach cleanser to clean the wood surface, but a gentle is more recommended.

(3). Use the high quality of sandpaper to remove and clean the previous existing veneer quickly. Make sure there are no left particles after removing the previous veneer because those particles will make the paint result not optimal (some small particles on the surface will be stuck in the paint).

(4). For a wood surface, some paint types that so recommended are; paint-brush natural bristle, latex (mostly) and milk-based (rarely available).

(5). Getting the optimal result, you can also add a sealant. One of products that advisable to make the desk looks more cleanly and stylishly is polyurethane. As additional tip, set the thickness 0.5 inch minimal or more for ‘polyurethane foam paint brush’!
